American visitors are helping with the recovery of international tourism in Portugal.

The United States and Brazil, which only have connections to companies in Portugal called "traditional" markets that have contributed most to the recovery of international tourism in Portugal either in income or in guests and overnight stays in hotels, "overshadowing" the role of low cost carriers. Data published by the Bank of Portugal Portugal Tourism show that the increased revenue generated by the visits of Portuguese and Brazilian Americans was 91.288 million euros, which is an amount equivalent to 44.4% of the total increase in revenues international tourism (+205.775 million).
