The Romanesque Route though the Sousa Valley, won a distinction in the category of best draft tourism project, from Portugal Tourism. The sub-region of Vale do Sousa has important and valuable assets consisting of Romanesque buildings. These are part of collective memory but also represent the potential of a qualifying cultural and tourist area.
