Whatever the water sport, the Azorean seas provide the ideal conditions for sailing, surfing, windsurfing or water skiing. The volcanic origins of the Azores have also resulted in spectacular ravines, cliffs, caves and lava tubes, known locally as “Mysteries”. Wind and sea erosion has created natural lava bridges and arches.
