. Meet the horses – For children. Children taking part in the programme are given an introduction to horses that includes not only riding but also learning to care for the horses and feed them (cleaning, grooming and diet) and about the animals’ personalities. The children also help with the daily chores carried out at the riding school (cleaning the equipment used during lessons, taking drinking water to the horses in the paddock and tidying away the tack, amongst other jobs). CS Vintage Lisboa Hotel launches packages for getaways in the capital

The CS Vintage Lisboa Hotel, five star hotel in Lisbon, has three new packages with two nights accommodation. "Discovering Lisbon, Lisboa Zen" and "Lisbon Romantic"  until end of March.  "Discover Lisbon,² with prices starting at 65 euros per person per night in superior double room including continental breakfast for two served in bed. The package also includes a tour of Lisbon Soho Style "in green buggies with GPS and audio guide for two people, between the Chiado and Crown Prince. "Lisbon Zen" prices start at 80 euros per person per night in superior double room, also with continental breakfast for two served in bed. Also included in this package is a bottle of sparkling wine and fruit fondue and chocolate in the red room, a spa program customized to each client, late check-out and free parking. Optional is also the program and "Lisbon Romantic, whose price starts at 75 euros per person per night, also in a superior double room, which is also included a bottle of sparkling wine and red fruit fondue and chocolate, breakfast in room for two and a romantic dinner for two at the Vintage Restaurant (excluding drinks), late check-out and free parking.In any of the programs is also included access to the CS Vintage Spa Hotel Lisbon, with enjoyment of the heated pool with whirlpool and contrast shower, relaxation area, sauna, steam bath and gym. The five-star Martinhal Beach Resort and Hotel in the western Algarve is launching a romance-based package for couples. The Romantic Escape package is available for two, four or seven nights and features sea view accommodation with breakfast served in the room and a lavish dinner in the resort's O Terraço restaurant (drinks not included). Other benefits include a room set-up with the two- and seven-night packages and a massage session in the Finisterra Spa's unisex treatment room with the four-night package. Guests staying for seven nights are entitled to two massage sessions in the Finisterra Spa's treatment room. Romantic Escape prices start from 119 euros per person per night and the package runs until 10 April, 2011.

From Sport’s Illustrated Swimsuit Issue to J. Crew’s catalogue to the Bachelorette – Lisbon is the hot place to be.  Portugal’s capital on the Tejo River is reborn with a host of new museums, restaurants and cultural venues and hotels. And, taking in Lisbon is easy with new packages from Azores Express/SATA: A week long package from Boston, with six nights lodging and air, starts at just $969 per person this fall.

Packages from Boston to Lisbon (via the Azores) depart Tuesdays and Fridays mid-September through the fall of 2011, combined with six-night stays at a choice of four hotels. For Tuesday departures, packages range from  $969 to $1,619 per person, double occupancy (plus tax). All packages include daily breakfast. Choose a package that combines a stay in São Miguel in the Azores for the same $969 base price. Children under 6 pay only child’s airfare. Children under 10 pay just 10% of the hotel rate, plus airfare.

New this year is the modern Tivoli Oriente, a 4-star in the newest part of the city, the riverfront Nation’s Park.

The others featured hotels include Lisbon’s stylish Hotel Azores Lisboa, a modern 4-star hotel in the city’s business and shopping district. The downtown and elegant Tivoli Jardim, set near major sites and shopping. The Hotel Mundial is right in the heart of the city’s center. The Mundial, recently restored, was famed as a center of espionage during World War II.

About Lisbon

Lisbon stands on the north bank of the Tejo River, where the river meets the Atlantic. It is Portugal’s largest city and its capital, with the added distinction of being the warmest and western-most capital in Europe. Its climate is strongly influenced by the Gulf Stream. Pousadas de Portugal Minho package

To discover the Minho region, Pousadas de Portugal has developed a special package with itineraries including Guimaraes, Barcelos, Viana do Castelo and the Peneda-Geres National Park.  The departures points are the Pousada Santa Marinha and Pousada Nossa Senhora da Oliveira, in the historic city of Guimarães, and the packages are available from 30 euros per person with lunch included.
